A boutique defense law firm in Rocklin is seeking a Paralegal or Legal Assistant to support its legal team. This full-time, onsite position provides essential support in preparing legal documents, filing motions, coordinating law office activities, and managing critical deadlines. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys working closely with attorneys on a variety of matters. NOTE: THIS IS A TEMP-TO-HIRE ROLE. Long term role if you are the right fit for the firm.
Responsibilities: Legal Support & Document Preparation
Assist attorneys with preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
Support drafting and coordinating subpoenas, including communication with process servers
Aid in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, researching legal articles, assisting with client meetings, and filing motions
Case & File Management
Organize and maintain case filing systems to ensure documents are properly sorted, accessible, and up to date
Perform general administrative duties in support of case progress and attorney workflow
Office Coordination & Scheduling
Coordinate key law office activities and support attorneys with calendaring deadlines
Assist with maintaining organized workflow processes and timely case management
Qualifications
Must be able to work onsite; this is not a remote position
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney in a law firm setting
Strong preference for candidates with paralegal certification or advanced paralegal education
Strong oral and written communication skills

Boutique defense firm practicing labor and employment law for employer-side clients, with emphasis on the agricultural industry
Matters include class actions, PAGA cases, wage and hour, administrative claims, and discrimination/retaliation/harassment cases

Compensation
Pay Rate: $23-$38/hr
